- Museum Snapshots in Paris
Free admission to museums and tourist attractions on the first Sunday of every month
On the first Sunday of every month in France, many museums and tourist attractions open their doors to the public for free. Paris is no exception, and I look forward to visiting world-famous museums such as the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, and the Pompidou Museum on this first Sunday, as they open their doors to the public for free. This time, I took my SLR camera in the morning and went to the rooftop of Notre Dame → Musee Georges Pompidou → Delacroix Museum → Quai Branly Museum, in that order, to take snapshots of the museums.
This time, I took snapshots with a 15-85mm zoom lens.
I often attach a single focal length lens when taking snapshots, but on this day I had a feeling that I would be shooting at relatively distant objects, so I attached a 15-85mm zoom lens. Thanks to this, I was able to capture people passing by on the ground even from the 4th floor of the Pompidou Museum, and I was also able to take perfect shots of the Sacré Coeur and Eiffel Tower rising in the distance. In some cases, it was difficult to get close to the artworks because of the large number of people everywhere, which was more than usual since the event was free. When there is a possibility to shoot mainly landscapes at a relatively long distance, as was the case on this day, it is very useful to have a lens with some telephoto effect so that you can capture precious shutter opportunities without missing them!
