Web Design for Japanese Restaurant
Kisin is a popular udon restaurant in Akabanebashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo that was so well-received that it was featured in the Tokyo edition of the Michelin Guide, and in 2016 relocated and opened near the Avenue des Champs-Elysées in the 8th district of Paris, France. Kisin was commissioned to design and build a website, including site design, photography, coding, SNS integration, and SEO. We also created a restaurant menu and a video introducing Udon culture using the photos we took.
Communicating “udon” through concept, photo gallery, and menu page
We first of all, we devised a way to let people know about “udon” since there are still many French people who do not know about “udon” even in Paris, the capital city of France. The concept page provides an overview of “udon” and its specialties, the photo gallery page provides a visual representation of the dishes offered, and the menu page provides a list of all the dishes and drinks available. In addition to food photography, we also took the chef to the Marché Président Wilson in the 16th arrondissement of Jena, Paris, where the chef shops for ingredients on a daily basis, and we also took photos of the udon noodle making process. We also made an effort to express Kisin’s specialties, such as the handmade udon.
Three-language support (Japanese, English, French), social networking, responsive design
Since the restaurant is located near the world-famous Champs-Elysées, an area that attracts tourists and business people from all over the world in addition to local customers, the website is available in three languages: Japanese, English, and French. The website also supports social networking services such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and adopts a responsive design to accommodate a variety of devices.
