Web Design for French Restaurant
Restaurant etude is a French restaurant opened by Chef Keisuke Yamagishi in September 2013 in the Trocadéro Place neighborhood in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, and was awarded a Michelin star in 2018. The name of the restaurant, etude, is a French word meaning “study” or “research,” and I believe that it is also a reference to the fact that Chef Keisuke Yamagishi’s favorite piece of music is Chopin’s piano exercise “Etude,” and that he challenges himself daily to try something new without being bound by conventional ideas.
The restaurant’s basic style is based on a commitment to the quality of ingredients and incorporating modern elements into classic French cuisine, but it also offers a vegan menu that does not use any animal products such as meat, fish, or dairy products, and is pioneering a new style with a completely different approach from classic French cuisine. I think his attitude is very interesting.
Chef Yamagishi asked us to design, code, integrate SNS and SEO for his restaurant website, which we created and built as follows
Site URL : https://restaurant-etude.fr/en/
Clean, simple, and diamond-shaped design
We prepared several esquisite patterns for the website, focusing on simplicity as well as the clean and relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant interior, but Chef Yamagishi ultimately chose a website based on a diamond-shaped design. The unique design is not usually seen in restaurant websites. One of the features of the website is the difference in impression depending on the device, as the diamond-shaped images with links to each fixed page are arranged much differently when viewed on a large display, such as a PC, than when viewed on a small display, such as a smartphone.
Rhombus design & CSS3 animation, English and French dual-language support, responsive design
Technically, the most effort was put into the representation and placement of the rhombus images with links to each fixed page placed on the homepage, as well as the CSS3 animation of these elements. Since the restaurant became a Michelin-starred restaurant in 2018, we have been receiving reservations and inquiries from all over the world, especially since the restaurant became a Michelin-starred restaurant in 2018. Since becoming a Michelin-starred restaurant in 2018, we have received an increasing number of reservations and inquiries from all over the world, so it is important to support both English and French. In addition, the site is designed to be mobile-friendly with a responsive design, as it is important to be compatible with smartphones in this day and age.
